Several dedicated months of blogging, and an untimely death. I revived my blog several times, on several hosting sites, but each of time (probably five or six by now) were dealt with initial enthusiasm only for that to wane as the novelty wears, and the blog suffers a quiet whimper of a death.

Each of time I revive or create a new blog I write a "justifying post" such as this; why am I blogging again if my blogs meet an untimely end. If I have no readers anyway. The difference now being that I no longer with the illusion that I am blogging something of any journalistic standard of value. I am catering to no reader but myself. And that now my blog serves less as a personal newsfeed to a (small) group of friends, more of a diary for me to organise my thoughts and feelings. So why use a weblog rather than a diary? I guess here the element of "syok-sendiri", or self-gratification comes in, and let's face it, which blog does not have at least a degree of that element? Perhaps that is what drives many to blog publicly something they could write privately on a notepad.

I have kept a diary once when I was 17, a pivotal year as I was studying for SPM, a university entrance exam equivalent. And reading that, and even the blog I created a few years later during first year in uni I have a better understanding of what I was then, compared to what I am now. So yes, maybe my blog is an exercise in introspection, or navel-gazing, but that is my prime purpose really, to have a neutral conduit to channel and organise my thoughts, and for something for me to look back on and reflect. For I do not want to blunder through my days not unthinkingly, only to live with unfulfilled potential and regret.
